My Story

The process of making a quilt is long and sometimes grueling. It's old fashioned because my grandmother and great grandmother used to make them, but it's modern too. I have tools and shortcuts that they didn't have and a vast amount of fabrics that they never had access to.

My love of quilts runs deep. It's not one thing about them, it's all the things

It's putting colors together and the feeling of knowing when it feels right. It's finding a fabric that makes you squeal. It's seeing a design in your head and figuring out how to make it come to life. It's the constant repetitiveness of cutting, stitching, pressing and then stitching again.

And then you have this finished treasure, this practical and PURPOSE FILLED quilt that will brighten up any space you place it in and bring warmth to any who lie under it.

I love quilts. I love to buy them. I love to make them. I love to bury myself up under them. Making them gives me purpose. It's MY age old trade.

All of my quilts are made to be used. Please don't store them unloved in a closet. Love them and then wash and dry them. They get cozier and softer every time you do.

Every quilt of mine is made by my own two hands, one at a time. I work on a Bernina 550 quilters edition machine and a Juki 2000. I use almost exclusively cotton fabrics, cotton thread and cotton batting.

I live in north Alabama with my husband and two children. I have a home studio dedicated to my love of making quilts. In my spare time I like to crochet, read and travel.

I also teach quilting to others on my blog and have my own fabric shop as well.

Southern Charm Quilts is my family's bread and butter, so thank you so very much for supporting me and my little shop. Every single purchase helps keep a roof over our heads and food in our mouths. You are not giving more of your money to big business when you have me make a quilt for you. You are contributing to our home, health and happiness. You are giving me the chance to make a living doing something that I love and am very passionate about. I do a little happy dance with every quilt you buy. So a big hug and thank you to you!
